'The Voice' will go head to head with 'Britain's Got Talent' again this year.

The BBC's singing programme will air its first live show on the same night as the final of Simon Cowell's ITV talent show, in a bold move by the station's bosses.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Putting The Voice's first live show up against the 'Britain's Got Talent' final is a bold move.

"But 'The Voice' is coming back stronger this year and bosses are confident any teething problems experienced last time have been erased."

Judge and reality TV mogul Simon was said to be furious after 'The Voice' beat his show several weeks in a row last year.

However, when it switched to the live singing sections - where contestants compete for survival - 'The Voice' lost around half of its viewers.

A BBC spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that 'The Voice' series two live shows will start on June 8.

"We aren't aware of a date for the 'Britain's Got Talent' final."

The BBC have shaken up the format of 'The Voice' this year, in a bid to retain more of their viewers.

Last year, 'Britain's Got Talent' was won by dancing dog act Ashleigh Butler and her pet pooch Pudsey.
