Channing Tatum is planning to take a rest from acting in 2013.
The 'She's The Man' heartthrob is putting his film career on hold to pursue directing and will step behind the camera next year to work on new projects with the help of his production partner and 'Magic Mike' screenwriter Reid Carolin.
He said: "We have about three to four ideas that we love that are all in the hopper. By the end of next year, we're going to shut things down and write the first thing that we're going to direct.
"We're going to be like, 'Alright, no more acting parts for a minute, let's take a few [moments] and really get caring about that section of our career'."
The 32-year-old star is thought to be working on a 'Magic Mike' sequel following the success of this year's male stripper comedy, which is based on his own experiences growing up, as well as a biopic about iconic daredevil Evil Knievel.
The actor says director Steven Soderbergh gave him the courage to give filmmaking a go and he was able to pick up essential tips on the 'Magic Mike' set that will serve him well next year.
He joked: "I don't think Reid and I would have the balls to try to make a movie without learning what we did from Soderbergh and [assistant director] Greg Jacobs. It was like a crazy crash course Cliff Notes on directing and how to make movies, literally get them done. We had a 'Matrix'-style download, like a plug in the back of the head and bloop! I know kung-fu now."
