Spice Girls 'make £10m each' for London gigs
The Spice Girls have pocketed £10m (€13.4m) each for their 17-night run at London's O2 Arena, it has been claimed.
The girl band played their final gig at the former Millennium Dome on Tuesday night and their sell-out tour has now moved to Manchester.
An O2 Centre source said the five - Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham - have made £50m (€66.9m) between them.
That eclipses any other star who has performed at the venue.
"Barbra Streisand had high ticket prices, but only did three nights while Prince did 21 nights but sold tickets for next to nothing.
"Not many groups can sell out 17 gigs at £75 (€100) a ticket, it's quite an achievement," the source told the Evening Standard.
Halliwell, aka Ginger Spice, recently claimed the comeback tour had nothing to do with money.
"The truth of the matter is, to put on this tour has cost £18.6m (€24.9m)," she said.
"We have done this purely to celebrate our fans, the music and ourselves. This is not a money-making expedition. It really isn't. Hopefully we will break even but it has never been about that."
