Sinead O’Connor to undergo hysterectomy

Sinead O’Connor has confirmed that she is to undergo a hysterectomy this Wednesday.

The controversial singer announced a month ago that her doctor had recommended the operation, although it wasn’t until last Friday she reconfirmed the news on Facebook.

“Hysterectomy Wednesday, Ovaries and uterus,” she wrote, accompanied by a diagram of the female reproductive organs

“Looking at this photo I can’t see how my vagina isn’t going to fall out,” she continued.

O’Connor has been having a rough few months after her son was diagnosed with a “life threatening condition” and she publicly shamed her agent claiming she was charged €4k for her German shows.

Fans and followers of the 48-year-old singer have teamed up to offer her support and advice with the operation.

“Best of luck with it Sinead...I'm nearly 9 weeks post op..still have my ovaries thank god...there is a facebook page called HysterSisters which is very helpful...do check it out, ”one fan wrote.

“I had my uterus and cervix removed last year, and yeah everything now is fine. Good luck in your surgery,” another echoed.
