Sinead O’Connor has taken to Facebook to share family photos and open up about her son’s ‘life threatening condition’.

In an emotional and lengthy post, Sinead wrote: “My child has been suffering with a life-threatening medical condition since early March 2015.

“It is the type of condition my child will definitely survive, if correct care is taken and is supervised by myself.

"Otherwise there is no guarantee. That is the plain truth”.

She opens the post with “To Whom It May Concern Regarding My Cancellation Of Shows For The Remainder Of 2015” as it come just under a week after the controversial singer cancelled her summer tour due to exhaustion.

"Like any mother, I have been up all day and night every day and night since I found out my child is suffering,” she continues.

“Needless to say, this has been and remains a severe family crisis”.

Sinead also referred to her battle with chronic gynaecological problems over the last three years, as well as her on-going fears to financially support her kids, due to the current state of the music industry.

Shortly after the post, she shared some photos of her children; Jake, Roisin, Shane and Yeshua.

Her first snap was of her eldest son Jake, who became a dad last week - making Sinead a grandmother for the very first time.

She wrote: "This is my eldest who just had the baby... This was taken the morning the baby came..Check out his lovely happy face".

"Here's my other three kiddies,” she captioned the other photos.

“(There may be more, but so far these are the only ones who've turned up at the gate)".

Sinead ends her series of posts with her cover of Abba’s ‘Chiquitita’, in which she dedicates to her “baby”.

It is not known which of her three sons is battling the mystery illness.
