A rising Meath actress in Hollywood has been chosen as one of the latest models for US clothing brand empire Guess.

Hannah Rose May is one of the new faces for the top clothing range which helped launch the careers of models such as Claudia Schiffer, Anna Nicole Smith, Eva Herzigova, Kate Upton and Julia Lescova.

The 26-year-old stunner is thrilled to be included on the prestigious website, donning the summer range of her 'dream brand.'

She has also been nominated for the best lead actress in short film award at the upcoming August Madrid International Film Festival for her role in The Way the Future Was, which she starred in alongside Kevin Pollak.

And the Ashbourne talent is remaining tight-lipped about her debut Young Adult fiction novel, which has just been picked up by a US publisher.

Hannah is going from strength to strength since landing in Los Angeles three years ago and has shared the screen to date with top film names such as Wesley Snipes, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Ryan Phillippe.

In a highly competitive environment, she has vyed for all her parts against up to 7,000 other hopeful actresses.

"Acting has always been the dream and I was lucky enough to find terrific management in LA straight away.

"But modelling has always been there in the background and something else that I love doing.

It's funny. My agent reminds me that when I was 17, I told him that one of my dreams was to model for Guess and here I am nine years later.

"I'm so excited to have been chosen as one of their latest models, not just because I love the brand but also because of who past Guess models were!

"I'm also honoured to have been nominated as best actress in a short film in the International Film Festival in Madrid. It's amazing to think that I've been judged alongside some serious talent who have also been nominated.

"People don't realise the talent in Hollywood that might never get even to an audition. For every part in the 18-25 year old bracket, there's between 5,000 and 7,000 who apply and maybe only 70 who of those who actually get to audition.

"For that, I'm humbled and thrilled to be looking forward at more future roles."

Hannah laughs at the thought of adding author to her list of accolades soon.

"I've always wanted to write so when I got a chance, I took it. I can't say much though yet as it has only been picked up by a publisher but watch this space," she said.
