Posh and Becks on highbrow BBC4
Posh and Becks have made it to highbrow arts channel BBC4.
The couple will be featured in a documentary about caricaturist Gerald Scarfe to be screened this autumn on the British digital station.
They are among 35 British icons tackled by Scarfe for the programme Heroes And Villains.
He is producing portraits of figures whose images already appear in the collection of the National Portrait Gallery and his renderings will appear alongside the original works in an exhibition opening in September.
The BBC said it was "probably his most ambitious project ever".
BBC4 controller Roly Keating said he had no problem with Posh and Becks popping up on the channel, which is better known for screening operas and high art.
"It was probably only a matter of time," he said.
Although the pair are not actually booked to be filmed for the show at this stage, Keating added: "I'm sure the entrepreneurial programming team will track them down."
A BBC spokesman said the programme "follows Scarfe's progress as he explores the tension that exists between portraiture and caricature and discovers whether Scarfe has been able to pierce the outer shells of some of the most celebrated and best loved figures in British history".
