Oasis plan to tour Australia again.
Noel Gallagher says they want to put bad memories from a previous promotional trip behind them.
Oasis are currently touring Europe and will head off to the US in August.
Following a handful of extra UK dates during September, the band will visit the Far East and are likely to play the Australian gigs shortly after.
Noel told Australian newspaper the Herald Sun the band needed to complete some unfinished business.
"We were rotten every night we played," he said.
"It was awful. When we started to draw a plan of action for this year I said 'We've got to go back to Australia' and everyone was like 'Why? We didn't have a good time last time'.
"And I said 'We have to go back, if that's the only time we ever go, it cannot be left like that'. We've got unfinished business. I have to say in our defence it was the end of a nine-month world tour and I think everyone was verging on alcoholism.
"There were a lot of drugs about, I was nearly 13kg overweight. But you live and learn."
When Oasis visited Australia to promote Be Here Now, Liam Gallagher was banned from the airline Cathay Pacific after he abused fellow passengers and crew members.
