A pair of famous GAA shorts, along with a signed script from the first episode of hit TV series Normal People, are up for grabs in an auction.

The memorabilia from the series are among a number of items being auctioned off to raise funds for the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation later this month.

The foundation provides home nursing care and support for sick children aged under five throughout Ireland.

“I’ve signed a pair of Connell’s Gaelic football shorts and it’s going to be auctioned off for an event for Jack and Jill, a charity in Ireland that provides crucial support for over 360 very ill children,” he said.

The Kildare actor’s character was known for sporting O’Neills GAA shorts in the series, which drew even more attention after it emerged that luxury fashion brand Gucci were selling a strikingly similar pair for €550 shortly after the series aired.

A Normal People script signed by Mr Mescal, lead actress Daisy Edgar Jones and director Lenny Abrahamson is also set to be included in the fundraiser.

Other items to be auctioned include Shane Lowry’s cap and glove, a Kilkenny hurley signed by the team, and one year’s supply of Lily O’Brien’s chocolate.

The auction for the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation will take place online from Friday, August 21st.
