Mumfords work on 'bones of new songs'

Mumford & Sons are working on brand new songs.

The folk-rock band want to capitalise on the success of their third album 'Babel' by getting straight back into the recording studio and claim they have already penned "exciting bones" of several tracks.

Banjo player Winston Marshall told NME magazine: "Will we wait years for the next album? F**k, no. You heard it here first. We've just started working on new songs, got a rehearsal studio. They're bones of songs, but really exciting bones. Sturdy bones."

The indie group also plan to play more festivals in 2013 after the success of this past summer, and confirmed they would once again be curating and headlining Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover festivals at hand-picked global locations next year.

Winston said: "We're gonna do more Gentlemen Of The Road Stopover festivals in 2013."

The popular band have received six nominations for the Grammy Awards 2013 including Album of the Year and Best Rock Performance for 'I Will Wait'.

Mumford & Sons are currently on the second leg of their 'Tour Of Two Halves' tour across the UK and Ireland. After kicking off their gigs at small, intimate theatre venues in November, the band moved on to bigger stadiums in December.

The tour concludes at London's O2 Arena on December 18.
