'Gavin and Stacey' film unlikely
Mathew Horne thinks a 'Gavin and Stacey' movie is a "bad idea".
The 32-year-old actor - who played the male lead in the BBC comedy opposite Joanna Page - explained while his on-screen dad Larry Lamb is all for taking the show to the big screen, he disagrees.
He said: "I think a movie would be a bad idea. I know Larry Lamb is up for it, but not me."
However, Mathew is keen for the cast - including creators James Corden and Ruth Jones, as well as Alison Steadman and Rob Brydon - to reunite for a one-off Christmas special in 2012, despite him being scared of "ruining" the show.
He added: "I think something will happen. It's just I'm always scared of ruining it. I think we'll probably do a Christmas special next year.
"It would be great to be with all the gang again."
James Corden - who played Gavin's best friend Smithy in the sit-com - recently admitted he and co-writer Ruth Jones, who portrayed outspoken Nessa, are still fascinated by their comic creations and often discuss what happened to the characters.
He said: "Ruth is my closest and bet friend and we miss the series. I'm as interested as everyone else to find out what has happened to those characters.
"We've always said that we would love the idea of making a special. We talk about it."
