Garth Brooks 'planning summer gigs in Ireland'

Garth Brooks is reportedly planning to play to concerts in Ireland next summer.

The Irish Daily Star claims the proposal is part of the country singer planning to beat U2's record for the biggest ever tour.

It is believed he may play a Dublin date and another Irish venue next July, at the concluding part of his current stadium tour.

The singer backed out of playing three nights at Croke Park this summer, after Dublin City Council blocked his bid to perform over five nights.

Bookmaker Boylesports have now introduced a market on where Garth Brooks will play in Ireland in 2015, with Croke Park a rank outsider at 10/1.

The current favourite is Phoenix Park at 6/4, with the Aviva Stadium following at 2/1.

The RDS is currently priced at 4/1, while in Ireland, Kilkenny’s Nolan Park is priced at 7/2.

Liam Glynn, PR Executive at Boylesports said “Just when we thought that the Garth Brooks saga had been washed away by The River it is back in our face again like a bad smell and it looks like the Thunder will be rolling again in Ireland in 2015.”

He added “Phoenix Park is the early favourite for Garth’s Dublin gig in 2015 but depending on his friends in low places, Croke Park, despite being a big price at 10/1, may well not be a non-runner just yet.”
