Tourism chiefs in Tasmania have launched an official petition to lure Elton John to the country.
The State Government has urged locals to back their campaign to bring the singer to the Southern hemisphere territory after the Rocket Man announced five dates in Australia in December.
Promoter Michael Chugg insists John could be persuaded to add another performance to the scheduled gigs, but says locals must prove they are desperate to have him perform in their area.
He said: "There are two or three regional areas that would love to see Elton John play there and basically my attitude is, well, it's a big show, it's not easy to do, let's see how interested you are."
North Queensland, Australia, is also vying for the potential additional performance by John.
