It may have been crowned Rear of the Year, but actress Jennifer Ellison today said she is not a fan of her bottom.
The ex-'Brookside' actress beat off a host of shapely celebrities to be crowned the 26th Rear of the Year.
The 25-year-old said she was “very honoured” she had won.
“It’s a huge honour because I don’t really like my bum,” she said.
“Every girl has a hang-up about her bum so I am very honoured and it’s flattering to be crowned Rear of the Year.”
The actress, who recently starred in the West End production of the musical 'Chicago', said her pert derriere was down to her background as a dancer and a sturdy pair of knickers.
“Every girl has a pair of Bridget Jones knickers in her wardrobe,” she confessed.
“I’ve done a lot of dancing from the age of three but I’ve never been a gym bunny,” she said.
Soap actors’ bottoms swept the board this year with Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas being honoured for having the nicest male bum.
He plays builder Jason Grimshaw on the ITV soap and said his prize gave new meaning to the phrase “builder’s bum”.
“I would like to thank my mum and dad,” he said. “Without them, winning this fantastic award would not be possible, it brings a new meaning to the phrase builder’s bum.”
This year’s awards supports Jeans for Genes charity which helps fund research and care for children with genetic disorders.
The charity’s spokeswoman Caroline Sharp, who presented Ellison with her trophy, said the awards were “a great way of supporting our cause”.
“Jeans for Genes is all about having a bit of fun and having a celebrity like Jennifer showing off her rear while she is wearing her jeans is a great way of supporting this cause,” she said.
Ellison joins actresses Barbara Windsor and Felicity Kendal, singers Charlotte Church along with Irish singer Ronan Keating and weather girl Sian Lloyd in the Rear of the Year hall of fame.
