Doireann Garrihy joins Eoghan McDermott for all new 2FM breakfast show

RTÉ 2FM today announced the brand-new line-up for its daytime schedule and Doireann Garrihy has joined the team.

The TV host and social media star joins 2FM to co-present an all-new breakfast show with Eoghan McDermott, weekdays from 6am-9am.

After two series of The Doireann Project on the RTÉ Player and having managed the two boyos in Ballydung Manor on The Podge and Rodge Show on RTÉ2, the 26-year-old is all set for some morning madness on 2FM.

Jenny will also continue to present The Electric Disco on 2FM every Saturday night from 6pm-8pm.

In short, the new schedule looks like this:

2FM WEEKDAY SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED

6am-9am - Presented by Eoghan McDermott and Doireann Garrihy

9am -12pm - Presented by Jennifer Zamparelli

12pm – 3pm - Presented by Tracy Clifford

3pm - Presented by Jenny Greene

As previously announced, Jennifer Zamparelli is to host her own morning programme, weekdays from 9am - 12pm, as part of the new schedule line up. Tracy Clifford has created major mid-afternoon show for music lovers and now comes in an hour earlier to present her afternoon show which will air from 12pm-3pm.

Popular Breakfast Republic presenter Keith Walsh will move to the weekends to present his own show, while Bernard O'Shea will leave the station to work on other projects.

Speaking about his departure, Head of 2FM and Radio Strategy, Dan Healy siad: "Bernard, one of Ireland's great comedians and content creators will be focusing on other projects. I have worked with Bernard for seven of the last ten years and it has been a huge privilege to work with a such a talented man and convinced we will work with each other in the future"

2FM have said that they will be making further announcements on the new schedule in the near future, so watch this space.
