Dixon: Cowell and Walliams making BGT a 'gay sitcom'

Alesha Dixon thinks Simon Cowell and David Walliams make 'Britain's Got Talent' a "gay sitcom".

The 34-year-old singer is returning to the judging panel alongside the comedian and music mogul - along with TV personality Amanda Holden - and Alesha has revealed some of the men's banter is so "risky" for the ITV show that it should be played after the watershed at 9pm.

She joked: " 'Britain's Got Talent' is like a gay sitcom this year. There's David and Simon who are a couple, then me and Amanda Holden who are TV wives. That's exactly what it is.

"So much is that that is too risky for the main show, especially from David. It's such a shame we don't do a 'BGT' out-takes show that goes out after the watershed. The tone has got lower and lower this year thanks to David."

Fans enjoyed the relationship between David - who is married to model Lara Stone - and 53-year-old Simon in last year's series and the 41-year-old funny man has already given a glimpse as to what what viewers can expect when the show returns later this year.

He joked to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper: "Simon has lifted the restraining order just for the series. We do have a lot of sun together. We also argue but it's more a lovers' tiff than anything.

"I'm not allowed to sit next to Simon - Amanda and Alesha won't let me. They are like a human shield. I keep trying but they won't let me"

When asked who he thought would be knighted first between himself and Simon, David quipped: "Simon probably. But when me and Simon get married I could be Lady Cowell which would make me very happy.

"Can you imagine how amazing the wedding would be?"
