Netflix has announced that Danish post-apocalyptic series The Rain season 2 will premiere on May 17.
The Rain season 2 picks up where the first season left off and follows the group of young survivors, led by Simone, who have fled back into the Quarantine Zone.
Simone's brother Rasmus is ill and carries the highly contagious virus. Martin is wounded and Apollon is right on the heels of the group in their relentless attempt to capture Rasmus.

There is division in the group, as they seek shelter in a hidden base where a team of scientists are hard at work trying to find a cure for the virus before Apollon.
It is a race against time, as Simone and the rest of the young group are desperate to save Rasmus, and ultimately themselves.
In order to do so they must help piece together the mystery surrounding the virus and try to figure out what Apollon's plans are.
In a world where nature is changing and the virus gradually becomes more and more dangerous, and where no one can be sure who can be trusted, loyalty among the group will be put to the ultimate test.
The series' second season is about love, coming of age, friendship, and sticking together through the most challenging of times.
The series, created by Jannik Tai Mosholt, Esben Toft Jacobsen and Christian Potalivo, first premiered on Netflix on May 4, 2018 and was soon after renewed for a second season on May 30 after positive reaction and reviews from critics and the public alike.
Season 2 will air on May 17. The countdown is on.
