Cowell to donate profits from X Factor winner's single to charity
Profits from this year's 'X Factor' winner's single will go to a children's charity.
Simon Cowell has revealed 100 per cent of Syco's profits from CD sales and downloads of the song - which will be performed by the two finalists at the culmination of this year's competition in Manchester on December 9 - will go to Together for Short Lives, which supports those who help, love and care for children and young people who are unlikely to reach adulthood.
The music mogul - who has worked closely with the aid organisation for several years - said: "Together for Short Lives is such an inspiring and important charity for so many kids and their families who really need help and support.
"These hospices are really happy and positive places and are a complete lifeline for so many families. Having worked with this charity for many years I have been able to see first hand how they have impacted so many lives, and I'm delighted that The X Factor's winner single sales will go directly to helping them."
At least £1 for each CD and 20p for each download of the song - which will be available to download once 'The X Factor' winner is crowned at the final on December 9 - is expected to be donated to Together for Short Lives.
The single will be the fifth charity release to come from 'The X Factor', but the four previous efforts - which include last year's cover of the Rose Royce classic 'Wishing On A Star' - have all been group songs performed by a number of contestants.
