Bynes charged with driving offences

Amanda Bynes has been charged with two counts of driving on a suspended licence.

Amanda Bynes has been charged with two counts of driving on a suspended licence.

The 26-year-old was formally charged on Friday after two incidents at Burbank Airport in California which occurred an hour and a half apart last Sunday, according to gossip website TMZ.

She could face up to six months in jail for each charge.

This is the latest in a string of setbacks for Bynes whose recent troubles include having her car impounded and facing charges of DUI (driving under the influence).

She was also involved in two bizarre episodes earlier this week, locking herself in a store changing room for nearly two hours and refusing to come out and stripping off during a gym class.

An onlooker in the class said: "Amanda stopped to take her T-shirt off, revealing only a tiny, black, strapless push-up bra - not a sports bra.

"She then picked up her Louis Vuitton handbag and pulled out her makeup kit and started reapplying her lipstick and eyeliner while looking at herself in the large mirror in front of her."

The instructor, Maurice Rabsatt, confirmed what happened on twitter and wishes Bynes a “healthy recovery”.

He wrote: “Yes I'm the cycling instructor that kicked Amanda Bynes out my class Tues Night! Wishing her a healthy recovery for what she is going thru.

“For the record I had no idea who she was it was dark but I would say I did notice how beautiful she was when she initially walked in.”
