Affleck and Damon team up for charity poker event

Hollywood pals Ben Affleck and Matt Damon teamed up with a host of celebrities for a charity poker game in Las Vegas.

The 'Good Will Hunting' pair and celebrities including Adam Sandler, Don Cheadle, Kevin James, Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Montel Williams, Martin Sheen and Shannon Elizabeth tried their hands at the poker charity event Up For Africa at the Rio Hotel in Sin City on Thursday.

The event raised money for Enough Project and the International Rescue Committee, which aids survivors form the Dafur crisis.

But despite Damon being credited for the rise of poker in the mainstream after starring in 1998 movie 'Rounders', he was knocked out five minutes into a tournament.

"I'm responsible for all these degenerates," he joked. "It was much more of a subculture when I researched the movie. We had to get buzzed into places and go in these secret doors. It was much less mainstream."

His pal Affleck fared the best out of the celebrities, but still only managed half the contest before he was knocked out - and he admits he no longer plays the game as much as he used to.

"I have hardly any time now," he said. "Poker takes a lot of time if you want to stay good. I don't want to suck. I was good. I'm still good. Family is better though."
