80s sitcom Only Fools and Horses gets musical makeover

Set in Peckham in south-east London, the sitcom, written by the late, great John Sullivan, starred an ambitious market trader Derek "Del Boy" Trotter, his younger brother Rodney Trotter, and their elderly Grandad.

Good ‘ol Del Boy, Rodney and the rest of the gang haven’t changed a bit since we bid a jovial ‘au revoir’ to the Trotters of Peckham, with the exception of the odd spontaneous bursting into song here, and the occasional dancing across London's markets, there.

John Sullivan's son Jim has teamed up with comedy giant Paul Whitehouse to write and produce a script to honour his father’s legacy and recreate the iconic series into a musical spectacular.

Whitehouse also takes centre stage as Grandad, uniting with Tom Bennett as Del Boy and Ryan Hutton as Rodney in this unique showstopper.

It wouldn't be Only Fools and Horses without the laughs, dodgy dealings and loveable rogues which are all brought to life on stage through an array of comic songs full of character and cockney charm.

Performances will run from Monday to Saturday at 7.30pm and Wednesday and Saturday at 2.30pm until August 2019.

Tickets start from £15 (€17.25) with front stall seats priced between £70 (€80.52) and £150 (€172.54) on the website.

One of the original cast of Only Fools and Horses has hit out at the price of tickets for the new musical version of the show.

John Challis, who played second-hand car dealer Boycie in the sitcom, tweeted that the prices are "outrageous" with seats going for almost £600 on reselling websites.
