Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lashed out at Manchester United for allegedly making an illegal approach for Patrick Vieira.

Wenger has accused the Premiership champions of holding talks with Vieira without informing Arsenal, a move that contravenes FA rules.

Vieira has expressed his desire to leave Highbury this summer, admitting that he wants a better chance to win trophies.

However, Arsenal are keen to hold onto the Frenchman and have pointed out that he is still under contract at Highbury.
