The Fine Gael Parliamentary Party will spend another day behind closed doors examining its disastrous showing in the election.

Top of the agenda is to find a new leader. Fine Gael TD’s, MEP’s and Senators must decide on a replacement for Michael Noonan but consensus on naming his replacement could be difficult, as five people have already put their name forward.

By the end of the day there has to be a decision, if not then there will be a race for the leadership.
