Six adults and a young child were treated for minor injuries after an ambulance overturned in a collision, it was confirmed tonight.
The ambulance, which was moving the young child to one of the main Dublin hospitals, collided with a car at the junction of the Naas Road and Kylemore Road.
A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade said: “The ambulance was coming into the city at the time and it went over onto its side. Six adults and a baby were moved to St James’s and Tallaght for treatment.
“They all suffered minor injuries and shock.”
Six ambulances, three fire engines and a rescue unit were called to the scene at around 2pm.
The young child was being transferred from Waterford by the south eastern region ambulance service to Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin’s Crumlin at the time of the crash.
The child was being moved for routine treatment.
