Brad Faxon carded a three-under-par 67 and holds a three-stroke lead over a pair of major winners after three rounds of the Sony Open in Hawaii.
Faxon had two strokes shaved off his second-round lead, but his 54-hole total of 15-under 195 is still well clear of Ernie Els of South Africa and Tom Lehman, both of whom carded 65s.
Carlos Franco of Paraguay and Jim Furyk, who won last week's Mercedes Championships, were seven shots off the lead at eight-under 202.
Furyk closed his round with three straight birdies and finished with a 69. It marked his 10th straight round in the 60s, dating back to last year's Las Vegas Invitational.
