European Cup: Munster lose Semi-final

Munster have lost their European Cup Semi-Final tie against the tournament favourites, Stade Francais.

Munster have lost their European Cup semi-final clash against the tournament favourites, Stade Francais.

Despite out-scoring their opponents by nine points to nil in the second half, the Irish side lost out by 16 points to 15.

In what was a scrappy game in the North of France, Stade Francais had two players sin-binned and Munster had a valid try disallowed.

Ronan O’Gara saw his hopes of making the Lions side take a severe dent as he missed three of his kicks for goal although he was Munster’s only points scorer.

Of the other Lions hopefuls, Peter Clohessy was slightly subdued today as was David Wallace on his return from injury.

Both John Hayes and Peter Stringer boosted their chances with good performances.
