A man was bitten in the neck during a road rage attack in Co Down, according to police.

A man was bitten in the neck during a road rage attack in Co Down, according to police.

The partially deaf man was driving home at around midnight when another motorist came up close behind him, sounding his horn.

He pulled into a picnic area at Drummanmore Road, Kilkeel, Co Down, where he was attacked by the other driver, suffering severe bruising to his face, a bite to the neck, damage to his ear and scratches to the leg.

A PSNI spokesman described the incident a "serious assault which appeared to be a case of road rage".
