Franz Beckenbauer is to run for the presidency of Bayern Munich again.

Franz Beckenbauer is to run for the presidency of Bayern Munich again.

The legendary player and coach is president of the World Cup 2006 organising committee and had expressed concerns that he may not have enough time to continue as president of Bayern, but he has decided to run for the office again.

Elections at Bayern will be held at their AGM in November.

The 57-year-old Beckenbauer has been Bayern president since 1994.
