A Derry man who claims he saw IRA gunmen on Bloody Sunday said he did not divulge the information to avoid taking away from the "cold-blooded murder" of the day, the inquiry heard today.
Charles McGill added that he believed that the new probe into the events of January 30, 1972, is a whitewash to a certain extent.
He signed a statement saying that he saw men armed with rifles and nail bombs after the shootings only two days ago.
