A consignment of soil delivered to landscape gardeners in New Jersey had human bones in it.

The gardeners were working on a project at a home in Sayreville when they discovered the bones.

Authorities say they included part of a leg from the knee to the foot covered with a sock and a jaw bone.

Petruzzelli General Contractors of Marlboro which made the delivery says it was excess soil from a cemetery.

Authorities say cemeteries stockpile soil from graves and get companies like Petruzzelli to take it away.

Foul play isn't suspected. Authorities believe the bones were mistakenly unearthed.

All the bones have been handed to the Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office.

Chris Petruzzelli, the company's owner, says he doesn't know which cemetery the bones are from.
