Contempt of court proceedings against Liam Lawlor TD has resumed in the High Court today.
Liam Lawlor could serve a term in jail for failing to honour a court order issued last October.
The order compelled him to provide information and answer questions about all his financial records.
Yesterday Liam Lawlor failed in his bid to have Mr Justice Thomas Smyth removed from the contempt of court case being taken by the planning tribunal against the independent TD.
Justice Smyth said he had no recollection of providing advice to a company called Green Properties in 1991, which opposed the re-zoning of Quarryvale, where Liam Lawlor had an interest.
Justice Smyth made it quite clear that he had not been compromised.
His dismissal of Deputy Lawlor’s attempt to remove him paved the way for contempt proceedings to begin.
Frank Clarke, senior counsel for the Flood Tribunal, claims that Liam Lawlor breached a court order issued last October.
He said that by not providing all records and failing to answer all questions about his financial affairs to the inquiry he is guilty.
