Multiple Group One winner Soviet Song remains on course to make her seasonal reappearance in the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury on May 20.

The James Fanshawe-trained six-year-old stretched her legs in Newmarket at the weekend as she limbers up for what connections hope will be another profitable campaign.

“She did her first bit of work on Saturday and really enjoyed that. She looks great and her feet are good,” Fanshawe told Racing UK.

“We’ll perhaps do a bit more with her to see how she is really going but she is enjoying it and is full of enthusiasm.

“We’ve got a bit of time and hopefully we can get there (to Newbury), otherwise there is the Ridgewood Pearl in Ireland the following week.

“But I’d love to have a go at the Lockinge if we could.”
