The Government's savings scheme saw a trebling of funds last month.

The Government's savings scheme saw a trebling of funds last month.

In June, more than £19m was lodged to the special savings accounts.

This is a trebling of the amount saved in the first month of the scheme, which saw

only £6m put away.

The public has until April of next year to sign up to the plan in which the Government will give £1 for every £4 saved over five years.
