Hollywood could soon be getting a new glittering award ceremony supported by the Irish Government.

The new ceremony, which would take place on St Patrick's Day each year, would award producers and stars who have promoted Ireland through their craft.

The proposal has reportedly been considered by the Minister for Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht, Sile de Valera.

It is hoped the awards would coincide with efforts to promote Ireland as a location for new movies.
