Director Tim Burton is due to meet with the family of Roald Dahl in London this week to discuss filming the late children’s author’s hugely successful book Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
Burton has the blessing of the Dahl estate, which was initially reluctant to make a deal because the author did not like the first screen version, which starred Gene Wilder.
Burton, who is currently in London editing his latest film Big Fish, is likely to remain in the city to shoot Charlie And The Chocolate Factory.
Hollywood observers believe the story of a chocolate magnate who holds a contest to find a worthy successor is a natural for Burton, whose previous films include Batman, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands and The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow.
