The mother of a Co Tyrone teenager who disappeared in the early hours of Monday morning has said she fears her son will not be found alive.

Colette Rush, from Castlederg, made her comments as 150 neighbours, relatives and friends searched the countryside near Donegal town for her missing son, Brendan.

Mrs Rush had dropped him off at a bus stop near his home so he could travel to a disco in Donegal on Sunday night.

However, he never returned home and was last seen by gardai at around 4pm on Monday morning.

His shoes were found yesterday about five miles from Donegal town, on soft ground near the main road to Ballybofey. The search is currently concentrated in this area.
