A man has been convicted of recklessly giving his girlfriend the HIV virus.

A jury at the High Court in Glasgow took two hours to decide that Stephen Kelly, 33, was guilty of culpable and reckless conduct in having unprotected sex with 34-year-old Anne Craig despite knowing he was HIV positive.

Trial judge Lord Mackay of Drumadroon deferred sentence on Kelly until next month to allow social workers and doctors time to compile reports.
