Army squad make artillery shell safe

A 16lb artillery shell has been discovered in the foyer of an apartment block at Arran Square, off Church St, in Dublin.

A 16lb artillery shell has been discovered in the foyer of an apartment block at Arran Square, off Church St, in Dublin.

An army bomb disposal team were called to the scene shortly before 6.00pm this evening, and removed the device.

The device has been rendered safe and taken to barracks.
