Ryan Giggs began light jogging again yesterday as he begins his latest comeback from hamstring trouble.

After making a superb start to the new campaign, Giggs has been ruled out for up to a month after pulling up during the Champions League win over Celtic earlier this month.

Sir Alex Ferguson admitted at the time the Welshman’s absence was a blow to his side and they have certainly suffered too, picking up just one point from their last two games to fall behind Premiership title favourites Chelsea.

With another international break looming, the earliest Giggs is likely to be back in action is in time for the trip to Wigan on October 14.

But, at least the 32-year-old is making steady progress in his battle for fitness.

“Things are going okay,” Giggs told MUTV.

“I did some light jogging for the first time on Sunday. All I can do now is wait and see how the injury progresses.”
