Hit-and-run investigation launched as victim dies in hospital

Police in the North have launched an investigation after a man who was injured in a hit-and-run incident during the weekend died in hospital.

Declan Quinn (aged 37) was knocked down in Coalisland in Co Tyrone on Saturday.

Yesterday he passed away in hospital, resulting in the PSNI launching a murder inquiry.

A 20-year-old man, arrested in Dungannon, is being questioned by police.

Officers say the man is being held on suspicion of assisting offenders and withholding information.
