The wrecks of crashed cars will be displayed on the sides of the main Dublin to Belfast road in a new safety effort to raise awareness of dangers on the road.

The wrecks of crashed cars will be displayed on the sides of the main Dublin to Belfast road in a new safety effort to raise awareness of dangers on the road.

Local gardai in the counties of Louth and Meath, notorious accident black spots, decided on the move in response to a rise in road fatalities last year.

A Garda spokesman said the crashed cars, which have not been involved in fatal accidents, would be in place within a few weeks.
