French air controllers to strike
French air traffic controllers are planning a four-day strike from tomorrow over job fears.
They hope to disrupt flights at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports.
Five unions have called for the strike from tomorrow until Friday because of plans to integrate European air traffic control. French workers fear that will mean a loss of jobs and civil servant benefits.
The French civil aviation authority DGAC said it could not say how heavily traffic could be affected by the strike.
During a similar strike last month, half of flights at Orly and 15% of flights at Charles de Gaulle were cancelled, and other French airports also experienced cancellations.
