Champion Hurdle hope Khyber Kim could take in the Totesport Trophy at Newbury in February following his brilliant win at Cheltenham yesterday.
The seven-year-old showed his Greatwood Hurdle success was no one-off when he came from last to first to floor the odds-on Celestial Halo and reigning Champion Hurdle hero Punjabi in the Boylesports.com International.
“He’s great, in top form. It just went beautifully for us and couldn’t have gone any better,” said trainer Nigel Twiston-Davies.
“We’re not sure where he’ll go next but maybe the Tote Gold Trophy at Newbury and then the Champion Hurdle.”
Khyber Kim is a top-priced 12-1 to win the Champion, sponsored by Smurfit Kappa, at the Festival in March.
Twiston-Davies also reported Razor Royale to be none the worse for his fine effort in taking second place behind Poquelin in the Boylesports.com Gold Cup.
“He did well but there was just one too good for him on the day. We don’t know about plans. We’ll see how he is,” the Naunton trainer added.
