Forget about hopping on the catwalk to launch their own fashion line, for celebrities in the know it would seem it’s all about ensuring homes are dressed to impress.
Rita Ora is the latest famous face to add homeware designer to her CV, unveiling her own interiors collection and joining a veritable mansion’s worth of stars in the process, from Catherine Zeta-Jones to Louise Redknapp and from Holly Willougby to Chrissy Teigen.
Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Ora has developed a colourful and diverse range of luxurious bedding, including pillows, sheets and throws.
“I’m so excited to launch my first bedding collection. Interiors are a passion of mine and it’s been fun to be able to incorporate my favourite things into the designs. As I have a hectic schedule, I love being able to relax in beautiful bedding and the collection encapsulates luxury, style and comfort,” said Rita.
The range will be available to purchase from February 10, on Amara.com.

SPRING may have sprung last Saturday, but winter’s chill retained its grip in recent days, so although greenshoots of the new season are adding zest to our rooms, extra touches of comfort and cosiness are still in vogue.
While an overhaul of each room is unlikely and impractical, especially during transition periods like this, leading interior design house Neptune has some tips that can help you hunker down from the moment you walk through your door.
In the living room, it is all about warmth and nothing says cosy like a sofa with a blanket draped over its arm, or an armchair with a throw similarly slung.
Cushions and statement accessories provide the easiest route to updating your home’s look, so even though we’re moving into the warmer months, don’t throw out those rich colours just yet.
You’ll probably have invested in some candles in the lead-up to winter — and although daylight isn’t disappearing as early, a cluster of candles can still provide a very comforting glow at twilight, particularly if paired with a warming, reflective surface, such as a mirror, brass, or etched glass.
Glass candle holders and tealights are another useful addition. Amber-tinted glass candle holders produce a gorgeous golden tone, while mercurised glass turns a candle’s glow into a beautiful glimmer.
No matter what the season, don’t leave your hallway and landing out in the cold. A sturdy lantern in the hall, or even something as simple as a winter-scented diffuser, will add a feeling of welcome cosiness for you and your visitors.
In the bedroom, we are talking layers, layers and more layers, just as you would when contemplating your winter-spring and Irish spring-summer wardrobe. Blankets are one of the most popular of wintertime interior touches. Some people take the view that you simply can’t have too many of them.
Creating a cosy lair in your boudoir starts with one statement throw at the foot of your bed. Place this so it is at least halfway down your bedspread.
Then, choose another blanket and place it on top, but a little higher on the bed. This way, both layers can be seen and appreciated.

THE achievements of women in the construction industry will be celebrated by the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) at its fourth International Women’s Day celebratory event this year, on Friday, March 6, at the Dunboyne Castle Hotel, from 7.30am to 11am.
This event follows on from the success of the federation’s previous breakfast briefings, as part of the #BuildingEquality campaign launched in 2017.
