Tottenham's Stephen Carr is back in the side, with starts for keeper Dean Kiely, Gary Breen, John O'Shea, Gary Doherty and Clinton Morrison.

The debuting manager has had to plan with a new skipper following the withdrawal through injury of Kenny Cunningham.

Fulham's Steve Finnan and Scotland's Steven Pressley have both failed to recover from illness ahead of the 8pm kick-off.
