The Small Firms Association has claimed that thousands of jobs will be lost if voters repeat last year’s rejection of the Nice Treaty.
Kieran Crowley, the association’s chairman, said a "no" vote in the re-run of the Nice referendum later this month will lead to the overnight loss of markets that have been built up over decades.
“We have a loose market, so our exporters in Irish companies will suffer and we will be less attractive to foreign direct investment into Ireland so all the companies that sell to North American companies that locate in Ireland, their custom will suffer too,” he said.
