The Government has come under fire in the Dáil over its plans to rush through more than 20 bills without full debate before the upcoming general election.

The Government has come under fire in the Dáil over its plans to rush through more than 20 bills without full debate before the upcoming general election.

Opposition parties said the reduced debating time risked leading to incomplete or flawed legislation being introduced.

They also attacked the Government for taking all of next week off so ministers can travel around the world for St Patrick's Day festivities, even though the national festival takes place on Saturday.
