West Brom’s £1.25m (€2m) striker Daniel Dichio has been told to raise his game by manager Gary Megson.
Dichio has scored just two goals in 13 starts after sealing a permanent move to the Hawthorns, following a spell on loan.
Megson is now debating whether to drop him from the side tomorrow when they visit promotion rivals Burnley.
‘‘Danny hasn’t produced the kind of form he showed when he came on loan, apart from the Wolves game,’’ Megson told the club’s website, wba.co.uk.
‘‘I could not care tuppence if he cost £1.25m (€2m) or £100,000 (€164,000). A big price tag won’t keep anyone in the side. He has got to start performing.
‘‘When you are hoping someone can do it for you, it is just a wish. When you know they can do it, like Danny showed earlier in the season, you expect them to do it.
‘‘I have considered dropping Danny. Like the rest of the players, there are no sacred cows here.’’
Keeper Marlon Beresford will make his debut for Burnley his second stint at the club after returning on loan from Middlesbrough.
Manager Stan Ternent drafted him in as Nik Michopolous is out for at least a month with a torn calf muscle.
Striker Robbie Blake, who completed his £1million move from Bradford last week, could also make his debut.
Wimbledon aim to be the first team this season to do the double over leaders Manchester City.
The Dons are the only team to win at Maine Road in the league, derailing City 4-0 in September.
A victory at Selhurst Park would complete a memorable double and manager Terry Burton will have Michael Hughes and Darren Holloway available after serving suspensions.
City boss Kevin Keegan, named manager of the month for January, is likely to keep faith with the side that defeated Millwall in midweek.
Norwich will be without defender Adam Drury for the visit of Sheffield United as he is suffering from damaged knee ligaments.
Midfielder Darel Russell will also miss the game after his appeal against his red card in the goalless draw with Millwall was rejected.
On-loan Wimbledon midfielder Andy Roberts could be handed his full debut after a late substitute appearance at Crewe.
Striker Paul Devlin returns to the Sheffield United squad after suspension but Laurent D’Jaffo faces a late fitness test.
