Bristol Airport to reopen after emergency repairs

The runway at Bristol International Airport could reopen this morning after it was closed for emergency resurfacing work, an airport spokesman has confirmed.

The runway at Bristol International Airport could reopen this morning after it was closed for emergency resurfacing work, an airport spokesman has confirmed.

Emergency repair work on the problem runway has been completed and the first flights could arrive at the airport from 10.30am onwards.

An airport spokesman said: “The airport could open at 10am if the tests are satisfactory. The findings are looking good but once we know definitively we will make a further statement.”

Airlines including Ryanair and Aer Lingus have advised intending passengers to check in as normal today.
