A man is being questioned by Gardaí in Co Cork following the discovery of €500,000 worth of cannabis in Macroom.
Gardaí found over 600 cannabis plants when they raided an isolated house eight miles south of Macroom at approximately 10pm last night.
They have described the growhouse operation as highly sophisticated with lighting and hydroponic systems to bring the plants to maturity over a three month period.
Meanwhile in a separate and operation, a 48-year-old man was arrested for questioning following a €35,000 drug seizure in Ballincollig in Cork yesterday evening.
Officers discovered five kilos of cannabis resin when they stopped and searched a car in the Greenhills area.
